fyeahmetal This is a great branch of the Incantation family tree, with John McEntee on guitar and then-wife Jill on bass and fearsome vocals - she could go toe-to-toe with any male death metal vocalist. The riffs inevitably sound like Incantation, though the overall approach is more straightforward and arguably catchier, as if Bolt Thrower played Incantation songs. I'm guessing 2015's Black Death EP was the last hurrah for this project, but I love it as much as I do Incantation. Favorite track: E. Histolytica.

poisonremedy Brutish, groove-heavy death metal here with a lot to say, focussing on politics and environmental and social issues but pushing their rage through a medical gore filter, which makes for a very unique feel to the lyrics, which are brutally but audibly delivered with raw finesse. Favorite track: Bedpan Commando.

xhrl_ Being a huge fan of John McEntee, buying Funerus' work for my stream is an easy decision. This is death metal that is profoundly interested in the destructive tendencies that mankind brings upon itself. The album's title gives a clear indication of the thematic orientation one will hear. As I love old school death metal, I truly enjoy Funerus' offerings -- and I very highly recommend giving Reduced To Sludge a listen if you dig heavy downtuned death metal or even doomy sludge. Classic DM. Favorite track: Reduced to Sludge.
